Kyoto during cherry blossom season is pure magic. The entire city transforms into a pink wonderland, and every corner feels like a scene from a Studio Ghibli film.
The Philosopher's Path
A stone walkway follows a canal lined with hundreds of cherry trees, and in spring the petals drift down like pink snow. I walked it twice — once in the morning light and once at dusk when they light up the trees. Both times were breathtaking.
Fushimi Inari
Thousands of vermillion torii gates winding up the mountainside — something everyone should experience once. We went early to beat the crowds and had sections of the path almost to ourselves. The way the light filters through the gates is ethereal.

Matcha everything
Matcha lattes, matcha ice cream, matcha mochi, matcha tiramisu… and I regret nothing. The matcha in Kyoto is on another level — so vibrant and rich compared to anything back home.
